When is payment due? How do I pay?Our preferred payment method is debit/credit card. We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Payment for most services is due at the end of the day after your dog's completed reservation is processed. For these services, if a credit card is saved to your profile, you will automatically be charged for your dog’s reservation. If your card is not saved, or if there is an issue preventing us from charging your card, you will be emailed a link to your invoice instead. If you are opted out of or unsubscribed from system emails, you may be prevented from receiving this email. This invoice is considered due upon being processed. Your open and past invoices can be viewed in the client portal. For group classes, payment is instead due upon enrollment in the class. For extended boarding stays, an advance payment equal to 50% of the total estimated cost may be required. Change will not be given for non-exact cash payments. Any cash paid in excess of the amount due will be added to the owner’s account as store credit for use on future services. In the event that an invoice is left unpaid, we will reach out to you during a routine check of our open invoices. Leaving your invoice unpaid past this point may result in additional fees. You can read about these fees more in-depth on our Rules and Policies page.
-
What is your cancellation policy? All services except for overnight boarding require at least 24 hours' notice before the start of the service for cancellations. Overnight boarding requires at least 72 hours' notice before the start of the service for cancellations. Services cancelled with insufficient notice may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the cancelled service. The cancellation fee for boarding reservations will be limited to the cost of the first 24 hours of the boarding. Shortening the end of a boarding stay is treated as a cancellation. We require at least 24 hours' notice before the new end of your dog's boarding stay to shorten their stay without incurring a cancellation fee.
-
What is your late fee policy? When you're running late picking up your dog, our number one concern is making sure we're prepared to take care of your dog. Please let us know as early as possible if you'll be more than a couple minutes late picking up so we can organize relief walks or even keep one of our employees a little late to be sure we have enough hands. A late fee may be applied to your dog's reservation based on their reservation type, how long we need to care for them past their scheduled end time, and how easily we are able to care for them alongside other guests outside of their reservation. Daycare and Boarding: Less than 1 hour late: $30 More than 1 hour late: $45 Walks and Solo Sessions for dogs that are eligible for daycare: Less than 1 hour late: $30 More than 1 hour late: $45 Walks and Solo Sessions for dogs that are not eligible for daycare: $70 per hour (rounded up) past the scheduled end of the service -- We are unable to open our doors for pickups later than 9:00pm. In the event that you are unable to pick your dog up by 9:00pm, we may need to board them overnight. This may result in an additional boarding charge at our current rates. Repeatedly picking your dog up late, or intentionally picking your dog up late in an attempt to circumvent our maximum capacity or availability may result in your dog’s expulsion from our services. Your dog may need to be placed in a kennel or isolated in one of our overnight bedrooms if they are picked up late.
-
How far in advance should I request a service? In general, we recommend requesting a reservation one to two weeks in advance and making requests further in advance for highly demanded services, such as overnight boarding on major holidays. Reservations cannot be requested through the portal later than 12:00pm EST the day before. Please keep in mind that requesting a reservation through the portal does not automatically confirm it, it still needs to be reviewed and accepted by a CIDT team member.

What should I bring? Please bring your dog's harness for walks, if they wear one. If your dog wears and will need a sweater, rain jacket, coat, or similar item for walks, please bring that with them. Please bring any medications your dog may need during their stay. Also be sure to give us all of your dog's medication instructions in advance. If your dog will need treats other than the ones we have on-site, please bring those treats with you in a labelled baggie. Also please let us know in advance if we should not give your dog the treats we have on-site. There are some points during the day where our team needs to use treats to redirect our guests' attention or play training games, so if your dog can't have our treats, they will need to bring their own. If your dog will need a meal during their daycare stay, please pre-portion that meal in a labelled baggie or container and let our team know when you drop off your dog which meal it is for (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). For boarding stays, please bring enough food for your dog's stay. You are welcome to pre-portion their meals if you'd like, but you are not required to do so. We also recommend bringing more food than your dog will need, just in case you are delayed picking them up. Please do NOT bring any bowls, puzzle bowls, or measuring tools for your dog's stay. We have our own on-site. Please do NOT bring any toys, beds, blankets, or similar items from home. Some guests can get protective around these items. There is an exception for boarding guests that prefer to sleep in a kennel; you are welcome to bring anything you would like us to keep in their kennel with them overnight. For guests that prefer to sleep in a kennel, we have our own kennels of various sizes, but you are welcome to bring a kennel from home if you prefer.
-
Are Half Days flexible? Can I schedule a Half Day for the middle of the day?Half Days are not flexible and are only available from 7am-12pm and 1pm-6pm. Any daycare stay outside of these hours affects our Full Day capacity and will need to be charged as a Full Day.
-
Are drop-ins welcome, or do I need a reservation? All services must be booked and confirmed in advance. Drop in daycare and boarding is not available. While we can sometimes accept reservations as late as the day before, in general we recommend making reservations at least one to two weeks in advance. Requests may need to be made further in advance for high demand days or longer boarding stays.
-
Are there specific drop off and pick up times? For daycare, you are welcome to drop off and pick up your dog anytime within a daycare window. 7am-12pm or 1pm-6pm for Half Days and 7am-6pm for Full Days. For boarding, drop off is only available from 7am-2pm and pickup is available from 7am-6pm. Boarding is a little more restrictive because guests that are dropped off too late won't get to participate in any daycare activities and may get frustrated at bedtime.
-
How exact do I need to be when scheduling drop off and pick up times? When making a daycare or boarding reservation we require you to schedule your reservation to start at the earliest time you plan to drop off your dog and end at the latest time you plan to pick up your dog. If you drop off your dog later than you scheduled, or pick them up earlier, that's no problem for us. Do keep in mind that the more exact your scheduled pickup and drop off times are, the more activities we'll be able to plan for your dog's stay. Please note that your dog may miss out on a scheduled activity if they're dropped off late or picked up early. Additionally, please give us at least 1 hour's notice if you plan on picking your dog up more than a couple minutes early so we can make sure they will be at the facility ready to go home and not out on an outdoor activity at that time. You may be prevented from dropping your dog off if you arrive before your reservation is scheduled to begin. You may be charged a late fee if you pick your dog up after your reservation was scheduled to end.
-
If I pick my dog up early, will the cost of my stay be reduced? No. All of our services are charged based on the times the reservation was scheduled for. If you would like to shorten your dog's reservation, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance so we can update their reservation and our schedules, and open any newly available spots to other guests.
-
My dog has allergies, what kind of treats to you feed guests? We use a Beef and Rice Kibble that is poultry-free and made without corn, wheat or soy so that it's safe for pups with common allergies and sensitivities. We use two different kibbles interchangeably based on what's available from the supplier. You can read more about the exact kibble we use straight from our supplier Chewy.com HERE and HERE If your dog can't have our kibble, please let us know in advance and drop them off with a labelled baggie of treats from home. Our team will be happy to use your own treats to accommodate your dog's dietary restrictions. Please note that we only use this kibble for treats and do NOT feed guests full meals with it. While most guests can handle a unique kibble as a treat, changing a dog's diet for full meals can cause intestinal distress, so we require owners to provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner when a guest will need to eat a meal with us.
-
Do you feed meals at Daycare? We feed daycare guests meals from home. Changing a dog's diet can upset their stomach, so we do not carry our own food for full meals, just treats. Owners are welcome to drop off breakfast, lunch, or dinner for their pup and we'll feed them at no extra charge.
-
My vet recommended I not spay/neuter my dog until they're older. Are there exceptions to the 6-month rule for daycare and boarding? We require all daycare and boarding guests that are 6-months or older to be spayed or neutered. There are no exceptions for dogs that need to delay their procedure for any reason. We recommend following your vet's advice for when to spay or neuter your pet for the short and long-term health of your dog. That being said, at 6-months old an unaltered dog's scent can trigger unpredictable and potentially dangerous behaviors in other dogs, which is the reason we require dogs above that age to be spayed or neutered.
-
Do you accept reactive dogs for daycare or boarding? No. Because we do not cage or kennel our guests and promote healthy play at our facility, it's not a suitable space for reactive dogs. Not only are they a risk to others and themselves, but they would also be unhappy in a heavily social environment like our daycare.
-
Is the Brunchtime Special only available on the weekends?Yes. Our special for a daycare stay from 10:00am-2:00pm for only $45 is exclusive to Saturdays and Sundays. We may occasionally run a promotion permitting owners to book a Brunchtime stay during the week for a limited time, however outside of those specials any stay outside of our regular Half Day windows needs to be treated as a Full Day.
-
What is your service area for Private Training? We service all of the Upper West side and some surrounding areas. Please email us at service@cassidyingramgodtraining.com to ask if we're able to reach you for training.
-
Do I need to go anywhere for private training, or do you come to me?All of our private training plans take place at your home by default. Depending on your dog's goals, some lessons may be scheduled to take place at a park near you or at our facility instead.
-
Do I have to pay for the entire training plan in advance? No. Your Initial Consultation and any subsequent Private and Solo Sessions will be charged individually after each session is completed. If your training plan is concluded early, any unneeded sessions will not be charged.
-
How many sessions does a Private Training Plan take? This varies from dog to dog and can only be accurately answered with an Initial Consultation. Very simple training plans where an owner just needs guidance on how to reinforce proper behaviors at home may only take one or two training sessions. More intense plans that cover a wide array of topics, or work on deeply rooted behavioral issues may require multiple sessions per week over multiple months. Generally speaking, most training plans consist of 1 session per week over 4-8 weeks.
-
What is your service area for pack walks?Because our pack walks incorporate dogs from our daycare, we are only able to provide pack walks for dogs that live near our facility on 79th and Broadway. Our regular range for pack walks is 76th street to 83rd street on the Upper West Side. This range may be extended slightly for clients directly North or South of us on Broadway, or temporarily extended for clients who have had pack walks recommended to them as a part of their training plan.
-
Will my dog have the same walker every time?Probably not. While most of our walking guests have a small number of handlers that routinely walk them, any of our daycare handlers may be scheduled to walk your dog based on handler availability, illness, and vacation.
-
Will my dog be picked up exactly when my reservation starts? Not always. All of our pack walks are 60 minute walks held in 90 minute windows. The extra 30 minutes is to allow us time to pick up and drop off the other dogs in your dog's pack. This window can apply to the start and/or end of your dog's reservation. Your dog's exact pickup and drop off times will depend on their place in the walking route and the walking speed of the other dogs in their pack that day.
-
Does someone need to be home when my dog gets picked up and dropped off for their pack walk?Maybe. We require a reliable way to pick up and drop off your dog during the first 30 minutes and last 30 minutes of your dog's pack walk window. This can be an owner who is home and able to open the door for us, a doorman who can allow our walker into the apartment or who can bring your dog out to us, or you can give us a spare key or other method to open the door on our own.
-
How much does a pack dog walk cost? Our pack walks cost $30 for a 1 hour pack walk. Walking services are subject to sales tax.
-
What is your service area for solo adventures? We currently offer Solo Walks from 70th to 86th Street, between Riverside and Amsterdam. If you’re interested in Solo Adventures but are outside of our current range, let us know! We’re looking to hire more walkers to expand our radius and need to know which directions to go.
-
Will my dog have the same walker every time? For recurring walks, almost always. If you set up a weekly walk for your dog, it will be assigned to a specific walker. In the event that your usual walker is away or ill, you will have the choice of either having us try to organize a replacement walker for the day from our daycare handling staff, or you can cancel your dog’s walk that day for no fee.
-
Will my dog be picked up exactly when my reservation starts? Not always. All of our Solo Adventures have a 15 minute window added onto the appointment to allow our walker travel time between appointments. Your dog’s exact pickup time may fluctuate slightly based on the distance from the appointment immediately before them, but your dog’s adventure will always last the full 30 or 60 minutes.
-
Does someone need to be home when my dog gets picked up and dropped off for their Solo Adventure?Maybe. We require a reliable way to pick up and drop off your dog during the first 15 minutes and last 15 minutes of your dog’s Solo Adventure window. This can be an owner who is home and able to open the door for us, a doorman who can allow our walker into the apartment, or who can bring your dog out to us, or you can give us a spare key or other method to open the door on our own.
-
How much does a solo dog walk cost? Our Solo Adventures cost $45 for a 30 minute adventure, and $70 for a 60 minute adventure. Walking services are subject to sales tax.
-
I can't make one of the lessons for a group class, can I still sign up?Yes, however please note that we will not provide a free makeup class for any lessons that are missed for personal reasons. For 5-week courses such as Obedience and Agility, missing a single class will usually not prevent you and your dog from completing all the goals of the course. Our trainers will attempt to catch you and your dog up in the lessons after the one you miss, and we'll email you any study materials you'll need. In the event that you'll need more training outside of the class, we may offer to schedule a discounted private training session to go over any missed curriculum. This private training session is subject to the same service area limitations as standard private training plans.
-
My dog is occasionally reactive. Can they still join group classes? Not right away. If your dog struggles with any kind of dog or human reactivity you will need to start with a private training plan to address and correct or learn to manage your dog's reactivity until they're at a point where they can productively participate in group classes.
-
Why is there an age requirement for Agility classes? The movements, exercises, and techniques that dogs practice in Agility can be taxing and potentially dangerous for dogs that haven't finished developing. Puppies’ bones are soft, and their growth plates are open until they’ve finished growing – so overexerting them or encouraging dangerous movements can cause permanent and severe damage. Agility 1 is a low-impact class that focuses more on focus, impulse control, and introducing your dog to basic obstacles than it does on intense activity. This class is safe for any dog 6-months or older to join. Agility 2 is much more intense, and will have your dog repeatedly practicing more difficult obstacles and learning how to chain them together. This class should only be attended by fully grown dogs. Most breeds are fully developed at 12-months old.
-
My puppy is not fully vaccinated, can they still come to social or the workshop?Yes. Our play area is sanitized before each social and workshop, so it's safe for your pup to come play with the other puppies even if they haven't finished their vaccinations yet.
-
Are walk-ins welcome at puppy social or puppy workshop? No. In order to participate in our puppy social or workshop, you will need to create a profile and reserve your spot in advance. Please email us at service@cassidyingramdogtraining.com for help signing up. If we have space available, we can often sign a dog up for puppy social lor puppy workshop as late as the day of.
-
Can I participate in the social with my puppy?Yes. We require at least one parent to attend the social with your puppy, but you're welcome to bring other owners to the social if you would like.
-
My dog is older than 5 months, but they're a small breed. Can they still attend puppy social? The age limit for puppy social has less to do with your puppy's size and playstyle, and more do due with vaccinations and the health of other puppies. Most of the puppies that attend our social are too young to have completed their vaccinations, so it can be unsafe for them to play with more developed dogs. A small grace period on the age limit can sometimes be offered in fringe situations. Please contact us directly at service@cassidyingramdogtraining.com so we can compare your dog's vaccination status and infection risk to the medical records of our other guests to determine if your dog can safely participate in social.
